There is no doubt that commuting to work has its struggles. The rush hour traffic, ignorant drivers, accidents and delays can cause any man to turn to road rage.
There is no way of avoiding commuting, until we all telecommute, so why not make it a bit more enjoyable. Here are a few tech toys that can brighten your day and make the commute a little better.
TFT Mirror Monitor with Rear-View Night Vision Camera
This little camera operated mirror can make seeing believing. The 7” TFT screen mounts over your existing rear view mirror giving you the image of what’s behind you from the small custom mountable camera.
Mount the camera above your license plate and be able to catch the car that’s riding a little too close. At night the camera automatically switches to night vision to give you a safe view of your back side.
Drivemocion LED Car Sign
We all would love to tell other drivers exactly what we think, and now we can. With this suction cupped device we can express ourselves to the idiots behind us. With a variety of emoticons to choose from the sign says it all.
If you are happy, there’s a button for that. If you are angry, there’s a button for that too. If you think the girl behind you is cute, yep, there is a button for that too.
With their new escalation feature you can even show how your anger is escalating. There is even a button that simply says “Back off”; of course some drivers might speed up for a closer look.
Mavia Autobot
Sometimes we just wish our cars were a bit smarter. Coming out in 2012 is a little box that will give your car a lesson in tech. Mavia turns your car into a smart car. It will connect to most smartphones and computers.
With features like a GPS locator if your car is stolen, an emergency feature that sends texts to your emergency contacts in case you are in an accident where your airbags deploy, and it even tells you where you parked your car, when and where your child is if they are driving, and even lets you know where your friends are partying by mapping their Mavia or social networks posts.
But that’s not all, Mavia has more tricks. It will learn where you drive the most, the neighborhoods you visit and find you local deals in those areas.
That feature is completely in your control as well. One more added bonus is the diagnostic reports of your car. Mavia can tell you what the check engine light means and in a way that you can understand. Mavia will soon be a must have for anyone who values control.
Cobra iRadar
Nothing starts your day on the wrong foot like a speeding ticket. For that Cobra has your back. Their iRadar system utilizes your smartphone to notify you of speed traps and lasers, but not only that.
It also maps out and alerts you of red light cameras. You will know if you can whiz past that last light before work and not be late, though I am not endorsing that idea at all.
However their Aura red light database is updated every 12 hours so there are no surprises.
Whether you have a lead foot, a short temper, or an affliction for following traffic safety, there is a gadget to satisfy everyone’s tastes. Make your commute more comfortable, safer, more fun, and even a bit insulting and you may just show up to work with a smile.
