A sure way to lighten your workload and instantly boost your productivity is by way of delegation. Or there is another option to that. If you cannot delegate, automate.

This is how it usually works. You delegate or automate the least important stuff on your To-Do list to pave way for more space, and thereby time, that you will put back to your main work pool.

By delegating or automating, you’re accomplishing two things – One, getting rid of yourself of the extra load that is likely to cause you open loops and,two, gaining more time for more important tasks you have at hand.

How Not To Overload Your To-Do List

Some people claim that the To-Do List is not an effective tool in getting things done. That is not true, though. But I am not going to argue with those dissidents.

The To-Do List is still widely used by many today and it’s still effective in delivering results.

But here’s the key: Your To-Do List is an effective tool only if it clearly designates your priorities.

Dealing Effectively With Information Overload At Work

Think about this. There are only 24 hours a day. A third of that is allocated for rest (sleeping time and other relaxing rituals). Another third is for work. The last portion of those 24 hours is for recreation and family or friends. Add an extra hour to your rest and you’re oversleeping or slacking. Add an extra hour to recreation and you’re too lax and lazy. Extended working hours might just be OK once in a while but doing that over and over up to a point that it becomes a habit can only mean two things: You’re either workaholic or mismanaging your work.
